Review of The Website Workout
Although the focus of this site is on Article Marketing as a way of promoting your website or business, it’s important to bear in mind “on-page” search optimization too. After all, successful marketing is the accumulation of many different strands. The more you do, the better the overall result.
So I was pleased to find a book on the topic (The Website Workout, by Darin Brockman), which came recommended to me by the Federation of Small Businesses. Although at first I rather smugly thought I might know most of what it contains, I was impressed (perhaps even DEpressed) to find that it brought to my notice a lot of information I still needed to implement. Let’s be kind, and say it consolidated my knowledge!
This is a book that will help you take a step back and look at the “why” as well as the “how” of promoting you website. It simplifies the technical side of creating different websites for different purposes, and shows how you can either outsource the task or do it yourself. There are plenty of tips and techniques plus advice on free or low-budget services to help you improve your online presence.
While I could list some of the topics covered, you’ll find that Amazon have done it better, and it was only when I actually took advantage of the book preview that I appreciated how valuable it would be, and at such a bargain price. The attractive layout and ease of access make this a very readable book that you’ll be able to return to for reference again and again.
I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check out the contents. If you find you knew it all, you’ll enjoy feeling smug! But, like me you might just decide that for such a low price tag, you can still pick up a few new website promotion ideas.
A short book, with no fluff, but packed full of sensible and practical advice for anyone in the early stages of using the Internet to build an online income.
